Mexican Fan Palm (Washingtonia robusta)


  • Native to desert valleys of Sonora and Baja Mexico
  • Height: 80’-90’ – 20’ spread, moderate to fast growing
  • Small white flowers in early summer followed by black berries
  • Prefers regular watering, drought tolerant if necessary
  • Prefers semi-rich well drained soils, but will tolerate sandy soil
  • Prefers full sun, but will tolerate some shade
  • Hardy zones 9-11, 20ºF (damage occurs below 20ºF)
